The project represented in this task is CopenHill.

CopenHill is an eco friendly project represented by the BIG, which means the Bjark architectural group in Denmark.

The project was completed in 2019.

This project serves the sustainability, CopenHill a ski slope with artificial snow that is situated on Amager’s commercial seafront. The world’s cleanest waste-to-energy power plant, marked by a massive chimney that blows out purified steam, is situated on top of the 1,300-foot rooftop park. The ambitious objective of the city to become the first carbon-neutral capital by 2025 is in line with CopenHill.

The ski slope’s top half is reserved for expert skiers, while the middle and lower slopes are open to beginners and young children.

The green roof, created in partnership with SLA Architects, is home to a lush, biodiverse ecosystem that reduces water runoff, filters air, and absorbs heat.

The initiative, which was formally inaugurated in October 2019, is a component of Copenhagen’s ambition to become the first carbon-neutral city by 2025. A grid of stacked metal and glass is wrapped around the exterior of the façade in a sequence of staggered “aluminum bricks.” One of the main features of the design was this deceptively straightforward perforated façade constructed of metal rectangles.
